Clancy Florence Anna McKenna Clancy, 88, died peacefully Saturday, August 24, 2013. She was born to the late Patrick and Mary Tighe McKenna, July 18, 1925, in New York City. Flo was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Francis (Frank) Joseph Clancy, and her older brother Jim McKenna of Willow Park, TX. Flo is survived by her five children, Kevin, Karen (Jeff) Trotier, Brian (Mary), Maureen Langkamp, and Jim (Kathy); eight grandchildren; and her beloved sister, Kitty Gribbon of Rochester, NY. She will be remembered as an organized, take charge person who was always the life of the party. She was a born leader, whether it was in her early years as an operating room nurse, raising five children, running the religious education program at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cincinnati, or taking over the RCIA program in San Diego. Flo suffered a life changing injury in 1990 which left her memory impaired. Her husband and five children were devoted to her care and will miss her dearly. The Clancys would like to thank the nursing staff and aides at Crown Pointe Nursing Home in Columbus, OH for her wonderful, loving and respectful care during her time there. Family will receive friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd., Columbus, OH, 43220 at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 30. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Catholic charity in her memory. Arrangements by EGAN-RYAN NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
