Putterbaugh Florence Lucille (Kruckeberg) Putterbaugh, of Powell, Ohio, succumbed to COPD on September 3, 2013. She was born on January 22, 1927 near Froid, Montana to the late Walter and Chelcie Kruckeberg. Although she and her family moved to Versailles when she was 12 years old, Florence's heart was always in Montana. She was married to Ward Eugene "Gene" Putterbaugh for 59 years before his passing in 2004. She is survived by children, Beverly (Steven) Larson and Ward Eugene "Gene" Putterbaugh; and by seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters, Esther Heft and Alice Swinger; brothers, Bob and Larry (Susette) Kruckeberg; her sister-in-law, Maxine Putterbaugh Alvarez; and by many nieces and nephews. Her sister Laura (James) Batty preceded her in death. Florence worked at North American Aviation, The Ohio Hardware Association, and Scioto Village and Riverview School for Boys. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter and she loved to travel. A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Florence will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at BAILEY ZECHAR FUNERAL HOME, Versailles, Ohio.
