Theodore S. Shilliday Obituary
Shilliday Theodore S. Shilliday, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Born November 15, 1924 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Clayton E. and Ruth A. Shilliday. Mr. Shilliday was a veteran of WWII, having proudly served with the United States Army, and earning three Bronze Stars during that time of service. He was a 1950 graduate of The Ohio State University, receiving a BS in Physics. He retired from the Battelle Memorial Institute as a Physicist after 37 years of dedicated service. An avid photographer, he and his wife Ethel, traveled extensively around the world, after retirement. A loving husband, dad and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ethel; daughters, Cynthia (Douglas) Ebner, Rebecca Hoch and Sarah (Russell) Bockin; grandchildren, Marshall, Teddy and Taylor Ebner, Rachel Hoch, Bryce and April Bockin; his nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his sister Dora Lee Stoerkel and son-in-law Charles Hoch. Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2013 at Riverside United Methodist Church, 2701 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, where he and Ethel were long-time members. His Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. that morning at Church, where Reverend David Griebner will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
