Burke George Edmund Burke, age 86, passed away peacefully at home. George was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and Charity Newsies. He was retired from Trinity Universal Insurance Company and was retired as an Assistant Coach for the Ohio State University Hockey Team and a member of the OSU alumni association. Preceded in death by parents Bridgett Gallagher Burke and Michael Burke, son Michael Burke. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bernadette Schroeder Burke; son, Bryan (Deb) Burke; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Payne; daughter-in-law, Vickey Burke; grandchildren: Patrick, Catherine, Claire and Abigail Burke, Matthew Parks and Joseph, Christopher and Stephen Payne; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013 in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 4476 N. High Street, Columbus, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd., Columbus, OH. Rev. Fr. Kevin J. Kavanagh, celebrant. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 9571 N High Street, Lewis Center, OH.
