Lockrey Brian David Lockrey, 58, of Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was born on December 13, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Gordon William and George Ann (Cline) Lockrey. Brian received his AS in Electronics from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1974, his BS in Computer Science from the University of Toledo in 1977, and his Master's Degree in Computer Science from Ohio State University in 1982. On August 22, 1981, he married Carol Sattler and they later divorced in December of 2010; she survives. Brian founded Data Assist in 1986 and served as its President and CEO until his death. He previously worked for Battelle as a software engineer, for Applied Innovations as a consultant, and was a Professor of Computer Science at DeVry University in Columbus. He was a very generous father and took care of his three daughters the best way that he could. He loved to laugh and found a lot of joy in music, especially Led Zeppelin. Brian had a wealth of knowledge of computers and was always willing to help others; he combined these two things and created a business that he maintained for the majority of his life. He was a very proud Ohio State Alumni and a fan of Buckeye football. Brian was devoted to his girlfriend, Becky Bulawa, who was the source of his renewed love of life. Surviving are his daughters, Lynnea Lockrey Ison (husband, Nathan) and Jessica Lockrey, both of Columbus; son-in-law, Dustin Kominek of Perrysburg, OH; girlfriend, Becky Bulawa of Kokomo, IN; brothers, Greg Lockrey of Temperance, MI and Dennis Lockrey (wife, Elizabeth) of West Lafayette, IN; and sisters, Diane Niswender (husband, Kenneth) of Goodyear, AZ and Shawn Pollman (husband, Rich) of Howell, MI. Also surviving are his granddaughters, Kinsey Mae Kominek and Olive Mabel Ison. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rachel Lockrey Kominek.
