Day Roger F. Day, of Glade Springs, Daniels, West Virginia and Vero Beach, Florida died after a sudden illness on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was 83. Mr. Day received a BA from Otterbein College and a law degree from The Ohio State University School of Law. In the interim, he served in the United States Army for three years as a counter-intelligence officer. Mr. Day was a prominent Ohio tax attorney. He was a partner at three different law firms in Columbus (Dargusch & Day, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, and Jones Day) until his retirement in 1996. In 2009, Mr. Day was inducted into the Ohio Tax Hall of Fame. Mr. Day was born in Sunbury, Ohio, the son of the late Forest and Luretta Day. He was married to the late Evelyn Joyce Day for 29 years and then to his current wife, Ann Roberts Day, for 27 years. In addition to Mrs. Day, Mr. Day is survived by his son, Michael Day (Kelly) of Tiburon, CA; stepdaughters, Eva Fox Mate (Edward) of Lone Tree, CO and Catherine Fox Mott (Thomas), also of Lone Tree, CO; and grandchildren, Kathryn Day, Anna and Samuel Mate and Elizabeth and Thomas Mott. He is also survived by his brother, Ross Day (Mary) of Westerville, Ohio. Mr. Day was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Beckley, West Virginia, where a memorial service was held on October 31, 2013.
