John F. "Bud" Rossetti Obituary
Rossetti Dr. John 'Bud' F. Rossetti lost his long and courageous battle with cancer on November 6, 2013. Bud was born in Canton, Ohio, on March 23, 1939. He was the son of the late Judge John and Emma Rossetti. He lived in Canton, Ohio, most of his life until his recent retirement from the practice of orthodontics, at which time he and Diana moved to Dublin, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana; his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Mike Mackan; his children, Kristen Rossetti (Greg Mayernik), John (Lori) Rossetti, Jeff (Tara) Rossetti, Kara (Brian) Rigney; his step-daughters, Kelli (Patrick) Weber and Jaclyn Evans (Matt Van Druten); and nine wonderful grandchildren (John, Andrew, James, Cassie, William, Elijah, Elizabeth, Margaret and Alexandra). Bud touched many lives through practicing orthodontics (Drs. Rossetti & Fanno), golf, his love for classic cars and his involvement in the community. The love Bud had for his wife and his family was endless. His friends, his office partner, Dr. James Fanno, and 'office family' also meant the world to him. With heavy hearts, we all mourn his passing. Bud graduated from Western Reserve University's Dental School and then served as a dentist in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he completed an orthodontic residency program at The Ohio State University. He was the first President of the Ohio Association of Orthodontists, President of Stark County Dental Society, President of Brookside Country Club, and a thirty-year member of Canton Board of Health (two terms as President). Bud was a founding member of Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in having The Ohio Amateur Golf Tournament played in Canton, Ohio. In addition to many other admirable accomplishments, he also served on the inaugural committee to establish the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles. In 2012, with family and friends present, Bud was inducted into the prestigious Distinguished Dentist Service Academy. The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at KARLO-LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 500 Everhard Rd. NW, in Jackson Township. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 726 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton Ohio, with Msgr. Patrick Gaughan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dr. Rossetti's name to the Stark County Dental Society Charitable Foundation, 6200 Frank Ave. NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720, or to Birdies for the Brave, www.birdiesforthebrave.org.
