Jones John Irvin Jones, 93, died December 3, 2013 at home. He was born October 11, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Bexley High School class of 1938 and The Ohio State University, Class of 1942. Lieutenant Jones served in the US Navy during World War II including service during D-day. He retired from Doddington Millwork Inc. Member Broad Street Presbyterian Church, Beta Theta Pi, Pine Hill Golf Club and Downtown Kiwanis. Preceded in death by wives Carol Mesenburg Jones, Mary "Beth" Jones, parents Irvin and Ceridwen Jones, brother William B. Jones and wife Lee. Survived by daughter, Shyla (Rick) Wilcox; sons, Woody (Renee) Jones, Jack (Lisa) Jones, Brough (Georgia) Jones; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. Memorial service Saturday, December 14 at EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. The Rev. Susan Marie Smith is officiating. Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice of Columbus, The , or The Bexley Education Foundation.
