Breckler Kenneth J. "Kenny" Breckler, age 86, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. Born March 25, 1927 to the late I. Ben and Marie C. Breckler. Preceded in death by his sisters Rosemary and Bernice Breckler. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in German Village. Attended The Ohio State University and was a member of the football team. He served in the US Army Infantry in Korea. He is a life member of the Purple Heart Association and Disabled Veterans Association. Life member of the Dublin VFW Post 10691, retired commander. Member of the American Legion Association. Retired Executive Director of the Masonry Institute of Columbus. Life member of the Bricklayers Local 55 (60 yrs.). Former industry member of the AIA, Columbus Specification Institute, Central Ohio Builders Exchange, Masonry Institute and the Ohio Masonry Society. Twice was named Mason of the year; 1996 and 1970 by Central Ohio Builders Exchange. Judged Brick, Stone and Marble contests for many years locally, state and internally for the OSU School of Architecture. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Fralinger Breckler; daughter, Brenda (Patrick) Swoyer and son, Robert L. (Karen) Bates; grandchildren, Amanda (Dylan) Hutchins, Marissa Bates and Matthew J. Bates; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Savannah and Willow; step-grandchildren, Sean Swoyer, Corey (Kristina) Swoyer and Benjamin (Courtney) Swoyer; nieces and close family friends. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High Street and from 9 a.m. Saturday until time the funeral at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
