My condolences to Dr Rick Costin and the Costin family. I knew Dr. Dick Costin professionally for over fifty years, and although he was known as an outstanding diagnostician and surgeon,he was lesser known as the trumpet playing band leader of the "DOCS OF DIXIELAND". He is missed. Milt Setnar,DO.

Our sincerest sympathies to Dick's family. My father and he were great friends and the founding fathers of Surgery and Gynecology. He will be deeply missed, but the great memories live on. Our mother Cherie also sends her thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies.

....what a great life! As a former resident, not a week goes by, even still after 37 years, that I don't reflect on some lesson learned in the mid-70's from Dr. Costin. I have always longed to duplicate his quiet dignity and competent manner. He will be missed, but he will live on in the surgeons he trained, and the patients that he helped, indirectly, through those he taught.

Dr. Costin was quietly effective as a leader, never overbearing and always able to find the best in people. He was a pleasure to be with him. As a leader, he was one of the best board chairs with whom I've worked.

Dr. Costin was a great wonderful kind friend. I want to extend my deepest sorrow and condolences to the Costin family. He was a kind hearted man who taught me many things. We were enjoyed each other's company. I'm truly blessed to have been a small part in the last chapter of his life. He will be missed, God Bless and prayers.
