Derek M. Gurley

Gurley Derek M. Gurley, 44, of Grove City, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016. Derek was born in Chicago, IL on February 17, 1972, and is preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence and Muriel Harper, and uncle Barry Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Melissa (Schuler) Gurley; daughters, Joycelynn Fortney-Gurley and Isabella Gurley; mother, Terri (Harper) Gurley; sister, Cheri (Cedric) Leath; brother, Michael Gurley; father, Delbert Gurley; grandparents, Peggy and Norman Gurley; mother-in-law, Brenda Schuler; aunt, Donna (Douglas) Wolf; uncle, Eric Jackson; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Derek worked at Kittles Furniture for 15 years and also worked part-time at Red Robin Restaurant. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, SW CHAPEL, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 with the Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Pastor Tyler Lyon will officiate.
