Obituary Condolences

Vokhgelt Max Roy Vokhgelt, age 24, passed away on May 24, 2016 in St. Louis, MO. He was born in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State University Hospital on June 9, 1991. He attended JCC for preschool and then attended the Bexley Schools until his graduation 2009. It was there he had his first battle with Leukemia. On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, after four months of courageously fighting, Max lost his second battle with Leukemia, while he was a part of a clinical trial for Car-T Cell Immunotherapy. His death was unexpected, as the trial showed great promise and his will to live was boundless. Max lit up a room with his smile, contagious laughter and unparalleled energy. Grateful for every day, he understood how fragile life could be and threw himself into every relationship he developed. His sweet nature and ability to love unconditionally invited friendships that were long lasting and true. Most of all he was a great brother, son, grandson and friend. His devotion to family ran deep, he was proud of his Russian/Jewish heritage and he did all he could to grow into someone his family was so very proud of. His future was bright, full of travel and a thirst for what was yet to be explored. He was taken too soon, but for those of us who had the privilege of knowing him, he is a gift we will carry in our hearts. Preceded in death by his grandfather Lev Vokhgelt and brother Daniel Vokhgelt. He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Vokhgelt; father, Michael (Elena) Vokhgelt; brothers, Nicholas Jay and Leonard Daniel Vokhgelt; sister, Yana Titova; grandmothers, Enya Vokhgelt and Alexandra (Ken) Armstrong; grandfather, Anatoli (Lyubov) Seliavski; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 27 at EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. Interment will follow at New Temple Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Bexley High School Community Room on Friday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred in his memory to the , , 4215 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108.
