Robert Walter Benkowski

Benkowski Robert Walter Benkowski, died July 9, 2016, with his family by his side in Columbus, Ohio. He now joins his wife Mary Kathleen Benkowski in eternal rest. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 23 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 20 E. Dominion Blvd., Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 29, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army as a heavy equipment operator and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1967 and a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University in 1973. He loved traveling and camping; playing the accordion and polka music. He loved cooking for his family and friends especially apple pie and cookies. He loved teaching his six grandchildren about life on the farm. He was always kind and eager to meet new people. He is survived by his brother, Donald Benkowski and his wife, Evelyne; his children, Maryan DeBrosse and her husband, Jeff and children, Abigail and Michael; Robert Benkowski and his wife, Sherry and children, Victoria and Andrew; Patricia Benkowski; Susan Benkowski and her husband, Noah Cowan and children, Genevieve and Jonah; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.
