It was an honor to return to work, after I retired, but knowing Jim had also returned made work easier, he was easy to talk to and understanding guy, you have my greatest sympathy. Hold on to God's unchanging hand.

I was honored to work under Jim at The ODJFS site at the Columbus Airport. He was a man of honor and intregity and I never heard him gossip or say a mean thing about anyone. He was the "go to guy" if you needed help with policy and procedure ! He never made you feel inadequate for asking. I'm an advid Michigan Wolverine Fan , but I felt honored to hear stories about Nathan at OSU and Jamie's love for Penn State. We would kid each other about his love for OSU and mine for UM !! It was all in good fun and sportsmanship!! I would love his stories about his dogs and gardening. My heart broke for him when Race died. He loved his family so much and was such a good role model to many. He was the only person in my life that ever called me Nan instead of Nancy. I never asked him why... It made me feel special that's all. My prayers and thoughts will not end here... I will continue to think of and pray for Ann and the boys daily.

I will be here for you I cherish our friendship also. I will be keeping you lifted in prayers as I do daily. Remember Joy cometh in the morning. And by his stripes we will be healed. I love you Ann. To Jimm until we meet again my friend tell Mr.Booker I can't wait until we're together again so you Rest in Jesus loving arms my dear friend. LOVE.

Jamie,
So so very sorry you lost your Dad so suddenly and so early in his life. If he is anything like you, he was a rare gem. Giovanna (your 4th grade student at Hanby) was so very sad when she heard about your Father. She has gone through a lot of loss also and wanted to express her sincere sympathies to you and your family.

Ann, Jamie and Nathan. I know that today will be hard for all of you. Just remember that Jim loved each and everyone of you with all his heart. He talked about all of you, his dogs and all the projects he would involve himself in. He used to talk to me about his beautiful roses all the time as well. Jim was one of the best bosses I've ever known. My prayers are with all of you today and my deepest condolences are with your families.

Barbara, I'm deeply moved by the loss of your brother. May the Lord be with you and your family as you seek comfort and peace. I can only imagine the impossible feeling you are experiencing. I'm reminded of Billy Joel's song - Only the Good Die Young - as I read of all the ways your brother touched so many hearts, including your own. I love you so much! The Lord keep you and guide you as we journey on, my sweet.

Jim was such a good person and a gentle soul. I had the great fortune to meet him through a mutual friend. All the kind words from everyone that had the pleasure to know him are a legacy to the kind of person he was. He will be missed. My heartfelt sympathy to Ann and to all of Jim's family, loved ones, and friends.

Nathan, I'm so sorry for your loss. I believe it is Heaven's gain and that you will all be together again for all eternity, but that doesn't stop the pain you and your family are feeling at this time. I pray you feel God's comforting arms wrapped around you and carrying you through this, Nathan. ~ Nicole Machen

We were sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Roger and I knew Jim at OBES/ODJFS and occasionally ate lunch together. He was always friendly, considerate and had a smile on his face. He was so proud of you Ann, Jamie and Nathan. He spoke often about his dogs which was an important part of his life. You are in my prayers. May God give you peace and comfort now and in the future.

I knew Jim from training at Columbus All Breed Training Club. I watched him come into his own as a trainer, handler and instructor. But even more than his connection with dogs was his connection with people, both his colleagues and fellow competitors and his students. Always positive, always encouraging, always the ultimate good sport. I will miss his smiling face and good humor at the club. He made a huge difference to so many people.

Jim & his therapy dog visited my mom' s adult day care program & she was always excited for the days they would visit. I saw the kidness & patience he exhibited with the attendees, how wonderful to have such a giving heart as to give your time to bringing joy & calmness to others.

Jim was so fun to be with anywhere- at breakfast with Ann or any school function for Jamie and Nathan. He and I loved talking about our beloved dogs and he gave me many tips on training for my dog. I will miss him tremendously but know God has a better plan for Jim. My thoughts and prayers are with Ann, Jamie, and Nathan.

Jim was one of the kindest and truly nicest people I've ever known. As a co-worker he was the best and I count myself blessed to call him my friend. He was a good and decent man. What higher praise can there be in this life? May God bless him and keep him close. May God grant peace to his family at this time of grief.
