Sam Miller Obituary

Miller Sam Miller. Our beautiful Sammy passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016, brutally taken by that vicious beast called heroin. Although heroin might have claimed his body, there is no doubt that the heavens claimed his soul. He was our life, our love, and the world was a better place to have had him in it. It is unbearable to think he fought this beast alone and, for that, we will cry for him forever. For those of you who truly knew him, and loved him - please keep him in your heart and memories. He will be deeply missed by his Mom and Dad; Catherine Thomas; and John Miller. Friends will gather from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington. Memorial contributions may be made to ADAMH of Franklin County, 447 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43215 in his memory (https://adamhfranklin.org/). John and Cathy,

I feel deep empathy hearing of your tragic loss. We haven't seen each other in years, but whenever I would think of our memories of Standard Management back in the 90's, I would remember how so many of us could not wait to hear the most recent "Sammy story". We loved those stories! John you would just beam telling those stories...holding us all captive with Sammy's latest funny word or story! I can't recall many of my old friends children's name, but I always remembered Sammy's name.

I can't imagine the sharp edges of pain that you feel right now and I pray God's love helps you to find comfort somehow.

When you are able and you can picture Sammy at peace and no longer fighting his demon, you will begin to find your rhythm in life again. Think of Sammy now watching you and his love for you and show him how you will continue to live for him. Think of how he would want you to continue on!

You will always have those Sammy stories and so many vivid pictures of his life, and eventually those precious pieces of the past will take some of your pain away and you will remember how Sammy lived more that the tragedy of his death.

May God walk beside you both.

Miller Family, Although I do not know you and have never had the pleasure to meet your son, my heart aches for your great loss. I am a student at Columbus State and heard that another student passed away and it has been weighing heavily on my heart since I heard how. I lost my brother to heroin last November and it's just been awful since. I am so sorry your family is living this tragedy but just know you are not alone. Much love to your family and I pray that you can someday find peace in your heart. Rest Easy Sammy.
