Grace Alma Stephenson

1930 - 2017

Stephenson Grace Alma (Fisher) Stephenson, lifelong Columbus resident, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 86 following a brief hospitalization. Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by her husband James Gilbert Stephenson. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Jim and Linda Stephenson, Cheryl and Larry Bratton, Gregg and Jo Stephenson, and Don Stephenson; as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Johnson and niece, Janice Brumfield. A 1947 graduate of Central High School, Grace was an active member of Central's Alumni Association and a past president of the Columbus Council of the PTA (Parent Teacher Association). She was retired from the dairy science department at The Ohio State University and a long-time member of the Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, at 5554 Karl Road, Columbus. There will be an additional 10 a.m. visitation on Friday, April 21, before an 11 a.m. funeral service and interment at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorial donations to be sent to Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church, 2350 Indianola Avenue, Columbus, 43202.
