DODSON Daymon William Avery Dodson, age 29, suddenly went home to the Lord Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 24, 1977 in Columbus, OH, and was a life-long member of Rhema Christian Center. Daymon was a graduate of C.A.H.S., had attended Columbus State Community College, and was working as a contract artist for Abercrombie & Fitch apparel. His artistic gifts included design illustration and music. A trained musician, he played the violin and piano, and was also a celebrated local emcee and DJ. Daymon was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, William Alfred Dodson Sr. and Kira Evelyn Walthall Dodson, maternal grandfather Hurley Taylor, godmother Danniebelle Hall and brother Kermit "Chip" Allen. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents, William Alfred Dodson, Jr. and Judythe Irene Taylor Dodson; his sister, Tracie (Joe) Russell; and godfather, Mr. Andrae Crouch, of Los Angeles, CA. In addition, his grandmother, Martha A. Taylor, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends are left to mourn his passing. Homegoing service 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the Rhema Christian Center, 2100 Agler Rd., Apostle Lafayette Scales, officiating. Mr. Dodson will lie in state Tuesday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St., and after 4 p.m. at Rhema Christian Center, where the family will receive friends 5 p.m. until the start of services. Interment will be in the Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
