John Randall Obituary

RANDALL John Isaac (Johnny) Randall, 5 1/2 years old. Johnny is the beautiful, deeply loved and cherished son of Matt and Julia (Betts) Randall, the best big brother and constant companion to Patrick, 3 years and 10 months. Johnny left us on September 1, 2007 to be with God, his Heavenly Father, his loving great-grandparents and other relatives who will care for him in heaven until he is reunited with Mommy, Daddy and Patrick. May God allow Johnny to shower love, blessings and comfort on his family who are inconsolable. Those left behind include his paternal grandmother, Vickie "Nana" Randall, "Pawpaw" Chris, grandfather, Michael (Linda) Randall and great-grandma, Hester Ratliff; maternal grandparents, Mike and Barbara Betts "Grammy and Grampy"; great-grandma, Veronica Williams; devoted aunts and uncles, Scott and Missy Randall, Jason and Jessica Randall, "Auntie" Kate (Betts) and Uncle David Kirkpatrick and "Auntie" Sarah Betts. Johnny's cousins include, Jeremy, Josh and Collin Randall, Cody and Gavin Randall, and best friends, daily playmates and cousins, Bridget, Mary Kate, and Michael Kirkpatrick. Johnny has a huge extended family including many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins, who enriched his life, especially Great-Aunt, Julie Garlock. He loved many others including, Jonathan Smith, Randy Jacobs, Gracie, Katherine, Grant and all of his Overbrook Pre-School friends. Johnny was kind and gentle to his beloved pets, Frolic, his golden retriever, and Aggie, his cat. Johnny had many gifts and talents to offer the world but his kindness and sensitivity stand out. Johnny was a beautiful, miraculous gift to his parents and brother and will be deeply missed and loved for the rest of our lives here and until we are together for all eternity. Our hearts are broken but we will love you forever, Johnny. Please watch out for us and help us to be strong until we can hold you and kiss you again. Mommy, Daddy and Patrick miss you. Friends may call at the SOUTHWICK-GOOD & FORTKAMP FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High St. Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd. Father Kevin J. You don't know me, I read your son's obituary in the paper. My husband and I lost our 5 1/2 year old son, Steven, last October. Be kind to yourselves as you journey through the grieving process. I know it hurts so much. We looked for ways to celebrate our son's life, planting a tree in his memory, donating items to his school for his classmates to use and enjoy, etc. We are grateful to God for the blessing our son was to our lives. Our son gives us signs to let us know he is still with us which is a great comfort. I'm sure your Johnny will do the same for you. Pray to Mary for courage and strength. She understands what you are going through - she also lost her Son. May God be with you.

The service was beautiful and we are in a state of shock and sorrow. Prayers and wishes are sent to your family. We hope Johnny has found peace with his family in heaven, free from the pain he had to endure at the end.

September 6, 2007

We have never met but I dropped of some food for the reception after the funeral. My husband and I too lost a child, ours was an infant and she would be 27 yrs. old. We think of her as our family's guardian angel and have prayed to her every day. Your little Johnny will pray and intercede for you and Patrick. You will feel his presence and know that he is in a wonderful place waiting for you. I always thought that our little girl was so special that God did not want her to have to go through the hardships of life. I think Johnny was the same. I know it seems impossible now, but you will smile again. Stay close to each other, time is your best friend.

Matt and family: I received a call yesterday about Johnny. May god be with you. We say we are sorry,
And we mean it from the heart,
But to understand your heartache,
No one could even start,
To have a loss like you have had,
Is too much to understand,
We see it and we feel for you,
But it’s only secondhand,
You’re the ones who are suffering,
And we’re the ones who care,
But if there’s anything we can do,
Call us, we’ll be there.

Dear Julia and Matt,
I live down the road at 3765. I have seen your son playing on numerous occasions and each time, my day was brightened by the sight of him bouncing around and the sounds of his carefree joy. Our family recently lost a child as well and I know that nothing I can say will ease your pain but Johnny will be there for you. You will hear him in the silence and see glimpses of him in other children and know that he is around you always. I am so sorry for his and your loss.

Until then Johnny will be the sunlight each waking morning and the shooting stars that grace the heavens at night.

Know that Johnny will never be in pain again and he is in a place more wonderful than we can ever imagine and someday we will all be reunited.
