RIPLEY – Earnest Edward ""E-man"" Cox, 68, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Ripley after a long illness. He was born March 5, 1945, to General Dig Cox and Lottie Adams Cox in Chalybeate. He made his life commitment to God early in his life. He was firefighter
for the Corinth Fire Department for many years. He was a lively, charismatic man who enjoyed being around family and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley. Pastor Ronnie Gibbs will officiate. Burial will be in Ruckerville Cemetery.
Survivors include Carlton (Shelia) Gibbs, Earnessa Cox, Sherry Knox, Chante (Michael) Boyd and Sonya Wade; five siblings, Paddie J. Prather, Sara (Gary) Jackson, Linda (William) Stewart, Billy Cox and Thomas (Julie) Cox; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Cox, and his parents.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
