FULTON – Esther Virginia ""Gin"" Umphers Brown, 85, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. She was born Nov. 24, 1928, to Edgar Lee and Opal Senter Umphers. She retired from Charm Step after many years of service. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed her yard work and loved her kids and grandkids. She was an immaculate house keeper. She enjoyed getting together with family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Jarrell and Bro. Billy Adams officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Survivors include sons, Freddie Lee Brown and Gerald Brown of Fulton; sister, Linda (J.C.) Enlow; brother, James L. (Betty) Umphers, both of Fulton; grandsons, David (Debbie) Brown of Fulton, Matthew Brown of Warren, Mich., Patrick Brown of Dorsey, Chris Brown of Fulton; stepgrandsons, David Newkirk of Dorsey, Terry Newkirk of Dorsey; 11 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Gunter of Holly, Mich.; and sister-in-law, Lucille Umphers of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Lee Umphers; her mother, Opal Umphers; her husband, Tulon Brown; son, Mackey Brown; brother, Roger Umphers; and sister, Halovee Hood.
Pallbearers will be Gary Maxcy, Mitch Wilson, Joey Osbirn, Stacy Smith, Paul Hood and Jeff Umphers.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.
