FULTON – Maxine Mason Hurd Carlisle, 87, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at The Meadows. She was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Clarke County to Erma Tillman and Verda Jane Holland Mason. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church. She worked for many years in the furniture industry and retired from Crestline Furniture.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Mike Warren officiating. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Adams (Richard), and one son, Martin Hurd (Myra), both of Fulton; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rex Mason (Sarah) of Wiggins and Lex Mason (Barbara) of Hattiesburg; a sister-in-law, Nola Mason of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Hurd and Austin Carlisle; two sons, Hillman and Tillman Hurd; three brothers, Ray Mason, Paul Mason and Loyd Edward Mason; two sisters, Lottie Louise Mason and Ina Lee Griffin; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Richard Adams, David Hurd, Jeffery Hurd, Ray Hurd, Tim Ellis and Sammy Pettigrew.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
