TUPELO – Peggy Sue Parrish passed away peacefully on June 11, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House with her family and friends by her side. She was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Winston County to Melvin Smith and Annie Mae Triplett. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Sinai M.B. Church, Louisville.
She later moved to Tupelo and joined Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church and served on the kitchen committee. Upon her death, she was a faithful member of Hopewell Belden. She graduated from Louisville High School and worked with General Motors
in Flint, Mich., for many years where she retired. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by five siblings, the Rev. Edward "Bubba" Triplett, Tupelo, Sara Maxine Smith, Sacramento, Calif., Janette Smith Bahu, Silverdale, Wash., Patricia Smith Sellers, Dixon, Calif., Steven McBride Smith, Berkeley, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Kendrick Triplett (Shae Triplett), Theresha Triplett, Themesha Rayford (Vernon Rayford), all of Tupelo, Yacheka Triplett, Olive Branch, Keyana Carter, Starkville, Nikkol Triplett, Louisville, Corey Triplett, Astoria, N.Y., Derek Triplett, Tullahoma, Tenn.; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her son, Dennis Bayber (newborn); her sisters, Kadelia Triplett and Beverly Ann Triplett; brother, Meredith Smith Sr.; and niece, Beverlee (BJ) Triplett.
Services will be held Saturday, June 21, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Louisville, with burial in Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Visitation will be today from noon until 6 p.m. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
