Wallace Joe Tomlison(1941 - 2014)

WALNUT – Wallace Joe Tomlison, 72, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born Sept. 28, 1941, to William Leroy and Johnnie Luna Tomlison in Memphis. He was the owner of W.L. Tomlison and Company in Walnut and a veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was on the board of Tippah Electric Power Association, serving as president until his retirement. He was a member of the Tippah County Good Samaritan Center Board, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners. He owned Tomlison Insurance Agency, and he later worked for Ripley Insurance Agency. He was a member of Spouts Springs Presbyterian Church.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with the Rev. Jody Hill and the Rev. William J. Connolly officiating. Burial will be in Spouts Springs Cemetery. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Childs Tomlison of Ripley; three daughters, Sara Tomlison Clemmer (BJ) of Ripley, Heather LaBarreare Ashmore (Nick) and Janna LaBarreare, both of Walnut; one granddaughter, Savannah Clemmer; and one brother, Tommy Tomlison (Ibby) of Franklin, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Anna Sue McGrew.
Pallbearers will be Nick Ashmore, Cary Childs, Roger Childs, BJ Clemmer, Donald Crum, Steven Dowdy, Jimmy Gunn and Trey Gunn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Childs, John D. Gaillard, Wayne Hughey, Larry Richardson, Gearld Short and John Brewer Tomlison.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
