I was with Bill at Charleston, Guam, Tuy Hoa, and C-141 School. We were roommates at Tinker for the Starlifter school. Bill was very studious and we spent many hours together at the "Library" working through the flight pubs. Bill was a natural pilot and a great aircraft commander. His Horseman experience made him an outstanding formation leader when he came to MATS, then MAC and led both C-130 and C-141 formations in training and on exercise
