Joseph Basile Obituary

PONTOTOC – Joseph ""Pa Pa Joe"" Basile, 100, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Pontotoc Health and Rehab in Pontotoc. He was born February 9, 1915, in New Orleans, La. He graduated from W.J. Peters High School. He married Florence Eckerle, Rose Ceravolo and Mary Watkins. He was a member of Springville Baptist Church, Masons, Knights Temple, Shriner and member of Grand Lodge in Meridian, Eastern Star, Clowns, Airline Lions Club of Metairie and DD Coffee Club of Harahan. He was a carpenter and half owner of Reliable Contractors. He played music with Pete Fountain and other jazz bands.
Service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. Joey Swords and John Snipes (Masons ceremony) will officiate. Burial will be in West Heights Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors are daughters, Jacqueline Miller (Ralph), Diann Armond (Terry Sr.) and JoAnn Thibodeaux (A.J.); special friend, Iris Morrison; grandchildren, Darlene Miller, Terry Jr. (Jeanne), Kenny Armond, Jay Thibodeaux (Lisa), Lori Corban (Larry); eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Basile and Eva Landry Basile; wives, Florence Basile, Rose Basile and Mary Basile; brothers, Francis Basile (Ruth) and Melvin Basile (Betty) and sister, Marian Vacarro (Thomas).

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015.
