BIRMINGHAM – Glen Kyle Cole, 86, died Monday, April 7, 2014, in Birmingham, Ala. He was born in Millport, Ala., on Nov. 9, 1927, to Jesse and Eunice Cole. He was a devout Christian and honorably served the U.S. Amy in the Korean War. He retired as director from HRDI and had a great love for his family, friends and the University of Alabama. He was a member of North Shelby Church of Christ and most recently at Northeast Church of Christ in Tupelo.|
Survivors include his wife, Millie Cole (Dr. Millie McDaniel) of Tupelo; daughter, Martha Ann Wilson (Judd) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Cole McDaniel Wilson and Mary Conlee Wilson of Tupelo, MS; one brother, John ""Jake"" Cole of Birmingham; and one sister-in-law, Nan Cole of Birmingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ratha Fowler, Christine McGee and Jean Luftman; and one brother, Thad Cole.
A graveside service was held Thursday, April 10, at Elmwood Cemetery with Bro. David officiating. Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Judd Wilson, Cole Wilson, Emory McDaniel, Dr. David Fowler, Randy Cole, Ronnie Cole, Jim Darden, EB Rich and Joe Wolverton.
