CHUNKY – Vicki Sue Castilllo, 54, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian after a very long illness. She was born July 29, 1959, to Sue and Raymond Newell. She attended Mooreville High School and Itawamba Jr. College. She moved to Meridian where she met and married Bert Castillo. They reared two beautiful children. She was a member of Women Of Moose Lodge. At the time of death, she was retired from work and was a stay-at-home mother and a wonderful grandmother to her grandsons. She was a member of Hickory Baptist Church. She loved her ""granddogs,"" Sadie and Bear.

Survivors include her husband, Bert Castillo of Chunky; son, Luke and wife, Ashley, of Hickory; daughter, Laura Castillo; stepson, William Castillo and wife, Ann; three grandchildren, Tyler and Amos Castillo, and Sebastian Castillo; mother, Sue McMillian of Tupelo; brothers, Keith and Greg of Tupelo, Mark Newell of Meridian; sister, Amy King of Meridian; niece, Abbie Newell; nephews, Stephen Newell, Brandon Smith and Josh Smith of Tupelo, Mike and Donna McMillian of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; special friends, Donald Gressett and Faye Hagan of Chunky; and special high school and college friend, Frances Long of Mooreville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luke Newell; stepmother, Brenda Newell; stepfather, Guy McMillian; and brother, Mitch McMillian.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today, Jan. 28, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Randy Rich and Rodney Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
