HORTON – Louise Thompson, 87, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Church Street Manor in Ecru. She was a faithful member of Horton Memorial Baptist Church and a retired LPN at New Albany Hospital. She made her career in nursing and enjoyed helping people and taking care of others.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Horton Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Owen Hitchcock officiating. Burial will follow in Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Gary Thompson; her sister, Inez McLaughlin; her son-in-law, Jim Harlow; five grandchildren, Kelly Thompson, Dustin Matthews and Jennie Adams Matthews, Reed Harlow, Crystal Harlow and Jackson Harlow; and five great-grandchildren, Courtney Thompson, Dominique Smith, Brooklyn Ariana Matthews, William Kyle Matthews and Lilly Blake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gambel Horton and Lena Rodgers Horton; her husband, James Thomas Thompson; a daughter, Melody Harlow; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Thompson, Jim Harlow, Jody Lyons, Jeremy Kidd, Jimmy Kidd and Dustin Matthews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Horton Memorial Baptist Church.
