Obituary Condolences

GOLDEN – Elton L. Wiginton, 93, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1920, in Itawamba County. He was retired from Brown Shoe Co. He was a member of Golden United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today, May 30, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, with Bro. Bobby Hankins and Bro. Nathan Hodum officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife of 69 years, Alene Wiginton, Golden; two sons, Danny Wiginton, Huntsville, Ala., and David Wiginton (Barbara) Muscle Shoals, Ala.; four grandchildren, Chris Wiginton (Joy), Lee Lee Wiginton, Nicholas Wiginton (Millie) and Samantha Cutter (David); and eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Wiginton Jr., Emily Wiginton, Frances Wiginton, Vivian Wiginton, Alex Wiginton, Avery Wiginton, Meryn Wiginton and Saryn Wiginton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurley Wiginton and Ila Robinson Wiginton; three brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Chris Wiginton, Nick Wiginton, Dudley Strickland, Andy Strickland, Tillman Ivy and Charlie Paden.
Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont.
