BLUE SPRINGS – Joda Jay Bullock, 79, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Monroe County to Joda and Berdie Tate Bullock. He worked at Krueger Metal and did body shop work until he retired. He was a member of Parks Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany. Bro. Frank Wilder will officiate. Burial will be in Parks Cemetery in New Albany. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Kay Bullock of Blue Springs; six children, Margaret (Kenneth) Hall, Johnny (Darlena) Bullock, Bobby Bullock, Diane Gresham and Billie (Larry) Hamblin, all of Blue Springs, and JoAnn (Jimmy) Gullick of Myrtle; a stepson, Mike Hicks; 15 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Gayle Duncan; brothers-in-law, Cleon Harlan and Buddy Woorley; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his six children, Helen Chaney Bullock; his parents; a brother; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
