PONTOTOC – Sara Pearl Crawford, 86, passed away June 28, 2014, at the Sunshine Rest Home in Pontotoc. She was born on April 8, 1928, to Debbs Martin and Sara Marilda Rea Steele in Pontotoc County. She later married James Thomas Crawford. She was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church and a member of Pontotoc Chapter of Eastern Star. She loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchild. She loved to garden and was a great cook. Before retiring she worked at Fred's, Family Dollar and Brookwood.

A celebration of life service will be Monday, June 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Gersham. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonita Maloney (Michael) of Heber Springs, Ark.; one son, Tommy "Buddy" Crawford (Cecelia) of Pontotoc; four grandchildren, Janna Stafford (Mike) of Okolona, Wesley Caffee of Shannon, Brittany Mallini (Frederick) of Sumrall and Kelsey Russell (John) of Oxford; one great-granddaughter, Alice Russell; and one great-grandchild to be; one sister, Mary Ruth House of Sommerville, Tenn.; one brother, Eugene Steele of Memphis, Tenn.; and her special roommate, Dorothy Reynolds.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Thomas Crawford;her son, James Timothy Crawford; two brothers, James Rea Steele and O.C. Robert Steele.
Visitation will be today at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m.
