Obituary Condolences

HOUMA, La. – William Fredrick ""Fred"" Harlow, 62, a native of Pontotoc, died Saturday, June 28, 2014. He was a member of Unity Lodge 267, the Eastern Star, the Houma Shrine and Jerusalem Shrine. He was captain of the Houma Clown Unit and a member of the Jerusalem Shrine Transportation Unit. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of Bent Cypress Hunting Club.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, July 2, at Unity Lodge 267 in Houma, La., followed by a Masonic memorial service at 7 p.m. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joan Bergeron Harlow; daughters, Leslie Valure and Kellie Valure of Houma, Amanda Harlow and Amber Harlow Smith (James) of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Jaiden Valure of Houma, Kobe Harlow, Brantley Smith and Ja'Niyah Harlow of Pontotoc; two stepgrandchildren, James Smith and Ki-lynn Smith of Pontotoc; brother, Eddie Harlow (Debbie) of Pontotoc; sisters, Betty Malone (Bill) of Tupelo, Margaret Wiginton (Bob) of Baldwyn, Martha Bush (Bill) of Mantachie; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Harlow Sr. and Opal Swindle Harlow, and a brother, Carl Harlow Jr.
