NEW ALBANY – Patricia Mae Johnson Mason, 77, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at her home in New Albany. She was born April 4, 1937, in Clarksdale to the late James Lafayette and Pearl Hitch Johnson. She grew up in the Sunflower community south of Clarksdale. She graduated from Clarksdale High School.

She was a homemaker and a volunteer organizer. She was a board member of the Good Samaritan Center, a former director of the New Albany Meals-on-Wheels and director of Red Cross Blood Drive.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of New Albany and Bethlehem Methodist Church.
A private service was held on Friday, July 11, 2014.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. H.F. Mason (Laura) and Lafayette Mason; one brother, William Garner Johnson; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Predeceased family members include her husband of over 59 years, Carroll Mason; one daughter, Kathy Mason; one son, Carroll Mason II; two sisters, Fay Johnson Russeau and Judy Johnson Albritton; and a brother, Jim Johnson.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Center in New Albany.
