HOUSTON – Bobby Gene Long, 54, died Monday, July 14, 2014, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born September 19, 1959, in Vardaman to Bobby R. Long and Ruby Higginbotham Long. He was employed by Insulation Refractor Systems of Memphis, and he attended Adonai Church in Water Valley.

He is survived by his three children, Tara Long of Foristell, Mo., and Michael and Hailey Long of Oxford; one sister, Melissa Cooper (Tommy) of Houston; two grandchildren, Malia Loos and Alana Freese of Foristell, Mo.; the mothers of his children, Tammy Long of Oxford and Tracy Killian of Mo.; his girlfriend, Sandy Wheeler of Houston; one niece, Mitzi Pickens, and two nephews, Tommy Cooper and James Cooper.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Bobby R. and Ruby Long, and a brother, Jackie Long.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Southern Funeral Chapel in Houston, with Brother Eugene Howell officiating.
