MADISON – Coral Barksdale Harwell, 94, beloved wife of Bill Harwell (deceased, 1999) and mother of loving daughters, Elizabeth Ann Harwell Goff (Max) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and Mary Ellen Yarbrough (Larry) of Jackson, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson after a short illness. |
A longtime resident of New Albany (though having lived at St. Catherine's Village in Madison since 2007), Coral served and worshipped at First United Methodist Church in New Albany from 1938 as a member of the Marjorie Houston Sunday School Class, as a Sunday school teacher, a Circle leader, and as Children's Choir Mother.
She found great joy in the early morning hours working in her yard tending her flower beds. The family wishes to give special thanks to Hospice Ministries Inc. of Ridgeland, Dr. Bart Delashmet, Dr. Grace Shumaker, Dr. Keith Jones, and the nursing staff of 4D at Baptist for their loving care and extraordinary professionalism.
Visitation will be in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church in New Albany at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, followed by services at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. A brief graveside service will be held immediately afterward in New Albany City Cemetery. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
