TROY – Wayne Parker Chapman, 84, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at his home in Troy. He was a member of Troy First Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter and maintenance worker for Malone & Hyde. He was an avid gardener and loved to fish.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. Greg Herndon and Bro. Fred Hartley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Eddington Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lois Ann Chapman; son, Gerald Chapman (Vickie); daughter, Brenda Hunter (Glen); six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Jessie Belle Chapman; daughter, Shirley Ann Tedford; two sisters; and three brothers.
Pallbearers will his nephews, Harvey and Jerry Pannell, Joe Harmon, Randy and Lee Chapman and Matt Chapman. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Steve and Tom Harmon, Steve Pannell and Artie Chapman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, July 30, 2014, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014.
