BOONEVILLE – Susie Jane Smith, 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at her home in the Tuscumbia community near Booneville. She was born on November 8, 1935, in Cocke County, Tennessee, to George Washington Stinnett and Pearl Henry Stinnett. She was the oldest of 11 children. Sue was married to Bobby Marion Smith on March 5, 1955. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed getting out and visiting. Her greatest love was her family and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, August 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Booneville with Bishop Wayne Smith presiding and Jimmy Burcham conducting. She will be laid to rest in the Smith Family Cemetery in Prentiss County. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bobby M. Smith; two daughters, Karen McCutchen (Paul) of Pisgah and Jennifer Murphy (Mickey) of Tupelo; two sons, Michael Smith (Rita) of Leesburg, Va., and Wayne Smith (Wendy) of Booneville; four sisters, Betty Schultz (Jim) of King William, Va., Joyce Roberts (Eldie), Barbara Hudson (Sherman), all of Newport, Tenn., and Sharon Trentham (Larry) of Parrotsville, Tenn.; four brothers, J.B. Stinnett (Shirley), Cleo Stinnett (Florine), Junior Stinnett (Doris), all of Newport, Tenn., and Orville Stinnett of Tazewell, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Willa Dean Schultz and Verlane Stinnett.
Pallbearers are Matthew Shephers, Taylor McCutchen, Ben McCutchen, Ryan Murphy, Nathan Smithand Parker Smith.
