ABERDEEN – Dorothy Dodd Adams Hawkins, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at her residence. |
She was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Monroe County to Pervie Lester Dodd and Mildred Irvin Dodd.
She lived most of her life in Aberdeen and the past seven years in Tupelo. She was past owner of Adams Dairy Bar. She was a member of the Aberdeen First Christian Church.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today, Nov. 4, at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Secrist officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathi Adams Dobbs of Hamilton, Dorinda Adams Lee of Lackey and Lisa Hawkins Rhoden of Tupelo; one son, Danny Adams and wife, Michele of Oxford; one sister, Jane Vines of Columbus; two grandchildren, Adam Dobbs and Cheley Adams Payne; and two great-grandchildren, Daniel Dobbs and Saylor Payne
She was preceded in death by her parents, P.L. and Mildred Dobbs; her first husband, Dan Adams; her second husband, Rick Hawkins; and one sister, Lea Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Dobbs, Wayne Malone, Mike Smith and Frank Nelson Jr.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Aberdeen.
