Gregory Anthony Tinner

MEMPHIS – Gregory Anthony Tinner, 46, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. A native of Oxford, he was the son of William Tinner and Dorothy Thompson Bland. He was a graduate of Oxford High School and a member of Jeffries Chapel M.B. Church in Abbeville. He was a driver for Sysco Distributors of Memphis. He loved riding motorcycles, baseball collecting miniature cars and just being with family and friends.
     Celebration of life service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at Clear Creek M.B. Church in Oxford. The Rev. Eddie Goliday Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
     He is survived by his wife, Regina Tinner of Memphis; mother, Dorothy (John) Bland of Oxford; grandmother, Mattie Bell Thompson of Abbeville; two sons, Joshua Tinner of Oxford and Kenneth Jackson of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Timeka (Kelvin) Jones of Thornton, Colo.; two sisters, Tonya (Anthony) Hampton of Oxford and Wenda (Kenneth) Granger of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Michael Carothers of Oxford and Terrance Tinner of Dyersburg, Tenn.; and a grandson he raised, Kristopher Williams of Thornton, Colo.
     Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Clear Creek M.B. Church.
