Jeannette G. Heritage
Jeannette Greer Heritage, age 79, died December 10, 2012 at Southerland Place in Brentwood. A native of Winder, GA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lenora Green Greer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m., at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Eugene Cotey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
Dr. Heritage is survived by children, Susan (John) Hylton, Norcross, GA, Darden F. (Sarah) Heritage, Huntsville, AL and Janna (Phil) Dahl, Franklin; sister, Ginger (Dale) Dewberry, Atlanta, GA; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Derek Heritage and her husband, John M. Heritage.
Dr. Heritage was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro. She was a Professor of Psychology at MTSU for 30 years. She received her B.S. degree from Auburn University, her M.S. degree from The University of South Alabama, and her Phd. from The University of Southern Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215.

I am Patty Laperal from the Philippines. I met Jeannette about a decade ago and she graciously shared her knowledge with us. Condolence to her family!

I first met Jeanette while a graduate student at MTSU. She was always there to help, give advice, or just serve as a great role model for women. I never forgot the encouragement and support she gave me. I am very sorry to hear that she is gone. She will be missed. Shalynn Ford Womack

Jeannette was my deacon and my teacher at First Baptist Church. I will forever appreciate her care and concern, and how much she loved the Lord.

Dr. Heritage was a wonderful role model for the Delta Zetas at MTSU. She was also a wonderful professor and I am saddened to hear of her passing. My prayers are with the family.
