Blanton, Steve  
Steve Blanton Steve Blanton, age 62 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was born in Murfreesboro and was the son of the late James Smoot and Lynn Youngblood Blanton. He was also preceded by a son, Johnathan Dallas Blanton. Mr. Blanton retired from the Murfreesboro City Water and Sewer Department. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lois Browning Blanton; two daughters, Mary Jacklynn Griffis and her husband Holland of La Vergne and Jasmine Blanton of Murfreesboro; a brother, Ronald Blanton and his wife Linda of Lascassas; step-father, B.F. Carney of Murfreesboro; step-brother, Dennis Carney, and a step-sister, Linda Rogers, both of Nashville; and a host of other loving family and friends. A visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 2 until 6 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. An online guestbook is available for Mr. Blanton at www.woodfinchapel.com .

Carter, Evelyn  
Evelyn Carter Evelyn Warren Carter, age 88, passed away March 2, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Evelyn retired from the Rutherford County Motor Vehicle Department and was the oldest member of Dunaways Chapel United Methodist Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mattie Heath Warren; step-mothers, Essie McKee Warren and Johnnie Alsup Warren; husband, John Ray Carter. She is survived by her son, Tommy (Pansey) Carter of Murfreesboro; daughter, Deborah (Steve) Harris of Murfreesboro; step-sister, Marianna Lane; sisters-in-law, Hollena Fuller and Joyce Yates; grandchildren, Chad Carter, Ashley (Nick) Coble, Derek Carter, D'Rae (Jonathan) Modrall and Steven Harris; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Carter Coble and Grant Modrall; several nieces and nephews and special friends. Chapel service will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers. Lewis Johnson, David Martin and Jim Newman will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Edmondson, Edith Bigsby  
Edith Bigsby Edmondson Edith Bigsby Edmondson, age 68 of Murfreesboro, departed this life on March 1, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Alberta and Jake Bigsby. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jake Jr., Hugh Allen, Frank, and Charles Bigsby; and sister, Dora Martin. Edith is survived by a devoted husband, David Edmondson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and many, many friends. Edith Bigsby Edmondson will lie-in-state on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Rucker Memorial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with funeral to follow at 12 p.m., at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Reverend Bobby Russell is the Eulogist. Gilbert, Clara  
Elizabeth Carson Gilbert Elizabeth Carson Gilbert, age 93 of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. A native of Whitwell, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Nell Scruggs Carson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gilbert; her sister, Mary Lewis Thomas. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Carl and Linda Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Steven Fisher, all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Brian Gilbert, Cherry (David) Ross, Matthew (Lindsay) Fisher and Chad Fisher; four great-grandchildren, Reagan Rebecca Ross, Makenzie Margaret Ross, Braden Waymon Ross and Cali Ann Fisher. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of The Eastern Star. Visitation will be 12 Noon Friday until time of service at 2 p.m., at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Her grandson, Brian Gilbert and Dr. Jim Clardy will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. William Gerald "Jerry" Hall William Gerald "Jerry" Hall, passed away March 2, 2015. He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He was a electrician, a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and served in the United States Army. Jerry enjoyed serving the Lord through Calvary Missions. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Thomas Hall and Mamie Lee Clinton; brother, Thomas Hall; and sister, Annette Hall. He is survived by his wife or forty eight years, Wanda Hall; sons, Jerry Ray Hall of Murfreesboro, Ronnie (Leslie Pitts) Dwayne Hall of Lascassas; daughter, Angela (Gary) Dyer of Lascassas; brothers, Mike, Floyd, Marty, Ronnie and Wayne Hall; sisters, Patricia Gowins, Mary Bibby, Christine Anderson, Diane Scott, Carol Hamm; grandchildren, Taylor Dawn Dyer, Angela Michelle Ingrahm, Tiffany Dyer Hood; great-grandchildren, Dakota William Hood, Lucas Isiah Yancey, Devon Jerome Maxwell; niece, Christie Hall of Smithville, and many more nieces and nephews. Johnson, James O.  
James O. Johnson James O. Johnson, age 79 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was a native of Baxterville, MS and the son of the late Oscar and Bertha Smith Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Juanita Goughenour, J.T. Johnson and Jeanette Dickens. A Celebration of Life will be 12 noon, Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Tony Holt will officiate. Private Interment will be Friday at Nashville National Cemetery with Military Honors. He is survived by his wife, Alice Miller Johnson; son, Joseph Andrew Johnson and his wife Jamie;son, James Tracy Johnson; daughter, Teresa Johnson; step children, Melissa Wright and her husband Don and Joel Blair all of Murfreesboro; 7grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army, having served two tours in Vietnam, and a retired Materials Director with Entergy in Beaumont, TX. He was a Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotarian and proudly brought The Dictionary Project to Rutherford County. He served the Murfreesboro community through his work with United Way, CASA and the Rotary Club. Memorials may be made to the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club, P.O.
