Colonel Barrett V. Johnson

Colonel Barrett V. Johnson, USAF (Retired), passed away on January 1, 2013 at the Tennessee Medical Center, Murfreesboro, TN, after a long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

A native of Billings, MT, he was the son of Abner and Mable Johnson (who preceded him in death).

He is survived in life by his wife, Sharon K. Johnson, Murfreesboro, TN; his daughter, Laura A. Zimmerman, St. Charles, IL; his daughter, Kimberly D. Byrd, Powhatan, VA; his son, Robert E. Williams, Reno, NV; his sister, Margaret Kay Luoma, Whitefish, MT; his sister, Diane W. Walker, Floweree, MT and their families.

Colonel Johnson was a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force and retired in 1986 after 30 years of service. He was an Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club in Reno, NV, belonged to the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and was a proud member of the River Rats organization, the Quiet Birdmen (QBs) and the Super Sabre Society.

A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m., January 5th at the Northminster Presbyterian Church (where he was a member), 708 West Clark Blvd., Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
