Edd Mack Edwards, age 92, passed away April 1, 2014 at Tennessee State Veterans Home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Edd was a barber for over 50 years, served in the U.S. Navy
, a World War II
veteran serving in the South Pacific and a member of Bridge Avenue Church of Christ.
Edd was preceded in death by his parents, Nat Gooch and Almeda Edwards; wife, Ruth Bell Edwards; son, Ben Edwards, nine siblings; and grandson, James Barrett, Jr. He is survived by sons, Eddie (Peggy) Edwards Jr., Kenneth Edwards both of Murfreesboro, daughter, Jean Williamson of Murfreesboro; brother, Henry Edwards; a special sister-in-law, Clara Edwards; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Chapel service will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at 3 p.m., at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, with Nicky Nichols and Joe Woodside officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul, Jack, and Steve Edwards and Ike Davis.
