Steven Q. Walker
Steven Q. Walker, age 48, died Saturday, November 24, 2012. Born in Detroit, MI, he was a long-time resident in Rutherford County.
Mr. Walker is survived by his loving wife, Laketa Henderson Walker; children, Thomas Walker, Jessica Walker, John Luke Walker and Timothy Walker; father, Ron Walker; mother, Joyce Speakman and her husband Jim all of Murfreesboro; sister, Sheila Walker of Florida; brother, Ronnie Walker of Midland, TN; sisters, Rhonda Walker of Murfreesboro, Shelly Jaco and her husband Chris of Unionville, TN, Andrea Walker of Murfreesboro; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walker was of the Baptist faith and was owner of Walker's AA Automotive Towing and Repair. He served in the United States Navy
and was a veteran of the Gulf War. Mr. Walker was Chief of the Fosterville-Midland Fire Department and twice won the Fire Fighter of the Year Award. He enjoyed working at the fire department, towing, mechanical work, gardening and being with his family.
The Murfreesboro Fire Color Guards will serve as Pallbearers. Jake Levine, Justin Smotherman, John Harvill, Bill Brooks, Mike Walls and Mark Bricker will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Memorials can be made to the Building Fund for the Fosterville-Midland Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Vernon Travis and Bud Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in Fosterville Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation with the family will be Monday and Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, 615-893-5151woodfinchapel.com
