Elizabeth Caldwell Myron

Elizabeth (Libby) Caldwell Myron passed away at age 100 on July 11, 2013 in Murfreesboro, TN.

She was born in Scott County, MO on February 5, 1913 to William and Frances Caldwell. She is from a family of ten children, all of whom predeceased her. Her husband, Kenneth E. Myron, to whom she was married 57 years, predeceased her in 1999.

She is survived by daughters, Marilyn Myron Mathis (Philip) of Murfreesboro, Florence Baker Woods (Fred) of Shoals, IN; granddaughter, Lori Mathis Deal (Tod) and great-grandson, Jacob of Oregon City, OR.

Following the death of a sister, she reared three nieces as her own daughters from the time the youngest child was 14 months old. Two of the three, Winifred Baker and Roberta Baker Fagan, predeceased her, and leave behind their nine children.

She resided in Little Rock until the death of her husband, where she attended Draughon's Business College and was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper for 25 years by the Arkansas Department of Public Health. She was active in her Christian faith and frequently hosted friends and ministers in her home. She was a gifted pianist, painter, seamstress, and needleworker; she was skilled in the culinary and decorative arts. She played the piano regularly into her 99th year, and shared her talents through piano and porcelain china painting lessons with many students throughout her life. Her intense curiosity, love of learning, and love of life kept her "young" throughout her long life.

"Miss Libby's" family extends heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Sunnington Assisted Living for the personalized love and care given her the last two years of her life.

A Memorial service will be held in Little Rock. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park and Garden in Alexander, AR.
