Irene Busey Whitworth

Irene Busey Whitworth, age 90, died Monday at NHC.

She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Dee and Cynthia Holder Busey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Whitworth who died in 1987; a son, Jerry Whitworth who died in 2005; two sisters, Hestel Myers and Mae Allen; two brothers, Raymond and Arcie Busey.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Kirk Mason, Jim Creech, and Mike Gann will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m., at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Whitworth is survived by a daughter, Brenda Gannon and her husband Timothy; a daughter-in-law, Donna Whitworth; a brother, Edmund Busey; two sisters, Novella Harding and Rachel Bean, all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Kelly McCrary and her husband Dalton, Shane Whitworth, Kimberly Petrozzi and her husband Gino, Shea Brock and her husband Denton, Luke Gannon, Cody Gannon; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jake, Addie, Gemma, Isabel, Coen, and Rory.

Mrs. Whitworth was a member of East Main Street Church of Christ and was a former member of Minerva Drive Church of Christ.
