James M. Cantrell, Jr., age 78 of Murfreesboro, died April 30, 2014. He was a native of Murfreesboro and son of the late James and Josephine Covington Cantrell.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m., at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Wayne Lankford, Jesse Tenpenny and David Becker officiating. Burial will be in Triune Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Cantrell is survived by his wife, Judy Crane Cantrell; step children, Jenny O'Brien and husband Bobby, and Dana Tindell and wife Patti; 5 step grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cantrell graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering. He attended Vanderbilt University and received his master's degree in business from Emory University in Atlanta.
Mr. Cantrell started his career with the DuPont Company in Nashville and later transferred to Chattanooga, TN and Wilmington, DE where he served the company for 25 years.
Mr. Cantrell was a veteran of the US Air Force serving four years, and also served in the National Guard for 25 years as a meteorologist. He was a member of East Main Church of Christ.
Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
