Samuel Clark "PeeWee" Adams
Samuel Clark "PeeWee" Adams, age 74, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his home in Readyville, TN.
Mr. Adams was a native of Readyville and the son of the late Ira Wilson and Ola Herrod Adams.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Ken Lannom and Bud Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be on the family home place.
PeeWee is survived by daughters, Melanie Adams-O'Neal and her husband Dennis of Readyville, and Angel Adams Davenport and her husband Jim of Murfreesboro; sisters, Mary Harris of Murfreesboro, and Loudelia Montgomery and her husband Ray of Nashville; his companion, Gail Norton and her beloved great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; grandchildren, Abbi Lou O'Neal and Brittney O'Neal, and one great-grandchild, Carrick Burt, all of Readyville; a niece, Rose Harris (Randy) Ogburn; nephews, Daniel (Sherry) Montgomery and Timothy (Cheri) Montgomery.
PeeWee was a 1957 graduate of Kittrell High School and is President of the Walter Hill Country Club. He retired as Clothing Manager of the Canteen at the VA Hospital, Murfreesboro, TN after 37 years of service. He was a farmer, avid outdoorsman, and was associated with his cousin Mel Adams at Adams Aluminum and his sidekick Robert Richardson in the maintenance and operation of Rutherford County school busses.
Active Pallbearers will be Daniel Montgomery, Timothy Montgomery, Jim Davenport, Dennis O'Neal, Randy Ogburn, Mel Adams, Robert Richardson, John Collins, Mike O'Neal, and Roy Adams. Members of the Walter Hill Country Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
