As a child living on Greenland Drive, my younger brothers and I learned the value of a penny and the responsibility of walking to and from the Tolbert and Basham store by ourselves to spend it. We loved that store and will always have fond memories of "shopping" there 40+ years ago. Bless each family member, friend and patron as we remember the man responsible for these warm memories.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. We are told in the scriptures to let our light shine for the Lord. I must say I've never seen anyone's light more brighter than Warren's. He was like a beautiful Christmas tree all lit up. You knew he was a Christian by the way he spoke and the way he acted. He simply stood out in a crowd. He was a very caring man, always willing to help anyone in need. We will miss him.God bless his wife and family and may they be comforted in knowing he is safe in the arms of Jesus.

When I think of Warren Basham I think of the Tolbert and Basham grocer store at the corner of Greenland Dr. and Old Lascassas Pike. I lived on the Old Lascassas Pike and would walk there often to get a pint of ice cream and a wooden spoon for $.25 - My sympathy goes out to all the family.
