Jim H. Johnson
Jim H. Johnson, age 88 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
A native of Cannon County, he was the son of the late Robert Ernest and Ella Mae Ferrell Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Selene Grimes Johnson, who died in 2007 and by a sister, Mary Ann Cluck; brothers, Elmer Ray, Albert W. and Robert Johnson, and by a special niece, Rita Worley.
Mr. Johnson is survived by a sister, Ruby Vaught of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Teemus (JoAnn) Johnson of Dickson, TN, Durwood Johnson of South Pittsburg, TN, Roy (Pat) Johnson of Sophia WV, Jesse (Dolores) Johnson of Chugwater, WY and Barrett (Claudine) Johnson of Readyville, TN; brother-in-law, Frank (Faye) Grimes of Murfreesboro, TN; special nieces, Reba (Rick) Adams and Sharon (L. C.) Brown of Murfreesboro, TN; special longtime family friend, Ann Maynard of Hartsville, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Ron Bevels and Rev. Mark Rosson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church, but attended Journey Pointe Church in later years. He was a US Navy veteran and also served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Johnson was a Mason and a member of Mars Hill Masonic Lodge #129, and was a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department.
